What to Do When Service Is Restored
1. Check your faucets
o Turn on the cold water tap at the lowest faucet in your home (such as a bathtub
or outdoor spigot).
o Let the water run for 10–15 minutes, or until it runs clear and free of air or
discoloration.
2. Flush all faucets
o Run cold water at each faucet in your home for a few minutes.
o Avoid using hot water until all cold lines have been fully flushed.
3. Check for leaks
o Inspect faucets, toilets, and exposed pipes for any leaks that may have occurred
while service was off.
